Surjadi, M.A. and online via Zoom and YouTube.
The event commenced by showing video testimonials from lecturers and students of Faculty of Business, Maranatha; about the business they started, the experiences they had at the University, and portraits of their moments with the Maranatha academic community in the previous days.
The Dean of the faculty, Tan Ming Kuang, Ph.D., also gave his speech in the middle of the event. He explained that this event was also a form of appreciation given by the University to students who successfully completed their studies in the odd semester of the 2021/2022 academic year. According to him, every achievement achieved by students is a form of success of parents and lecturers in educating students, as well as the results of students' hard work while studying at the University.
“There are many other tests that you will face in the work field, in the society in which you serve, and in the business you build after graduating from University. Therefore, keep fighting and learning as long as we live,” he said.
The event continued with a inspiring session hosted by one of the faculty’s lecturers who is also the CEO of Ganesha KALPATARU Satya, Sunjoyo, S.E., M. Si. He gave the title of the material as “Unlocking the Locked Treasure”. Sunjoyo explained that there are at least seven mental blocks that can hinder us from sucess, namely when we try to find the right answer, think what we are facing is illogical, follow various rules ineffectively, avoid ambiguity, think that failure is a bad thing, always try not to look stupid, and feel that we are not creative. In the discussion, Sunjoyo provided various suggestions and solutions for each of these problems. At the end of this session, there was also a discussion between the speakers and participants.
Furthermore, an awarding session was held featuring students who graduated from the Bachelor Program in Accounting and Management, as well as students who graduated from the Master Program in Accounting and Management Program, who managed to achieve the highest cumulative grade point average (GPA) and the highest number of portfolio points in their class. The award winners were present in the Auditorium, at this award ceremony.
The event closed with thankful remarks from the Chairperson of the 2022 Faculty of Business Award Committee, Yolla Margaretha, S.E., M.M. She admitted that this event could not have gone well without the help and hard work of the committee and various parties involved. Yolla also advised the participants to keep learning and fighting as long as they live in the world. (ra/gn)
